A 23 year-old Sudanese mother and her two children are reunited with their family at Lindbergh Airport. They have been granted refugee status and will be resettled in the San Diego area. Globally, there are an estimated 13 million refugees, 38 million internally displaced persons, and 10 million people who are stateless. The United States government’s annual resettlement target is currently 70,000 persons.
